Bullmastiffs - Choosing a Reputable Breeder
Ask a breeder a lot of questions concerning his Bullmastiffs and the way a new litter was planned. Take it as a positive sign if the breeder associates with clubs or other breed organizations. There is no reason to feel that you are trying the breeder's patience. It is his duty to assure you that his puppies really conform to the claimed quality.

Do not be surprised or dissatisfied when the breeder tries to find out your plans for a Bullmastiff. A responsible breeder cares about his puppies' future and will never sell Bullmastiffs to a person who does not deserve his trust.
The ultimate goal of any responsible Bullmastiff breeder should be selective breeding of high quality Bullmastiffs for excellent temperament, soundness and type. Responsible breeding means producing puppies in order to improve the breed, not to create pups for sale.
Bullmastiffs - Pedigree
Pedigrees give necessary information on the dog's background. While looking through the Bullmastiff's pedigree, you will learn about the pup's parents, grandparents and even great-great-grandparents. If the puppy has champions in its breed line, it has a good potential and with certain effort applied your Bullmastiff will make an award winner as well.
